Black History Month

Happy Black History month! February was named Black History Month in 1976 by president Gerald R. Ford and is dedicated to learning about honouring Black history and heritage.

These are just a few of the many important figures in African American history:

▪️Rosa Parks:

“You must never be fearful of what you are doing when it is right.”

▪️Martin Luther King Jr:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”

▪️ Barack Obama:

“A change is brought about because ordinary people do extraordinary things.”

▪️ Maya Angelou:

“It’s not where your dreams take you, it’s where you take your dreams.”
